US investor Colony Capital joins Hamburg Trust

US-american real estate investor Colony Capital joined fund and asset manager Hamburg Trust and now hold’s a share of 50 per cent. According to Hamburg Trust this was realized via an increase of capital and reserve. Previous sole owner was Berlin based HTH Hamburg Trust Holding.

Colony Capital is one of the world’s leading real estate private equity and investment advisory companies. Since its foundation in 1991 it has aquired a fund volume of more than 24 billion US-dollars and invested more than 60 billion US-dollars. Today the company employs more than 300 people in 14 offices in Europe, Asia and the U.S. and is listed at the New York Stock Exchange. It’s headquarter is in Los Angeles, and the European activities are coordinated from London. Since 2011 Colony Capital also runs an office in Berlin.

“We are proud to have such an internationally renowned Company on board to expand our busines long term”, says Dirk Hasselbring, CEO at Hamburg Trust’s. “Particularly the strengthening of our capital base is a very good basis for further initial investments of real estate portfolios and for exploiting project-development oppportunities. This will significantly accelarate our institutional asset mangement.” Just recently Hamburg Trust started it’s first real estate fund for charitable foundations and currently plans to initiate two special-AIF (alternativ investment funds) with an overall volume of more than 500 million euros.
