Hamburg Trust buys German shopping centre from HBB

Hamburg Trust has acquired the Forum Hanau shopping centre in the German state of Hesse from developer HBB Hanseatische Betreuungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft. The center was opened in September 2015 and has about 36,400 sqm of rental area for gastronomy, retail and services. It is almost fully let to Toys’R’Us, clothing companies like Zapata, H&M, Camp David and New Yorker, retail store chains Rewe and dm, restaurant chain Vapiano and the city of Hanau with a media centre. Hamburg Trust plans to incorporate the property into a real estate fund which builds up a portfolio of inner city shopping centres in German metropolitan areas and secondary cities.
